Chelsea Teale Geography

The Department of Geography, Environment, and Spatial Analysis is excited to announce that on September 14th we are observing the first official International Humboldt Day, organized by the International Biogeography Society (IBS).  The 14th is Alexander von Humboldt’s birthday, and as a virtual celebration this year, the IBS is the one-stop shop for finding online events that continue through the week.  Check out http://www.humboldtday.org for more information and a list of events, which include synchronous and asynchronous presentations by leading biogeographers from every continent except Antarctica.  Of particular interest is an hour-long talk by Dr. Stephen Jackson (USGS, University of Arizona) on Humboldt and his legacy.
