Advocate for Students on the UC Board of Directors University Center
Get involved with campus and help guide decision-making in Dining Services, CenterArts, and Center Activities with three board member positions now available for students on the University Center Board of Directors.
Currently, there are three seats available: two one-year terms and one two-year term. Application packets are available at the University Center Administrative Office located above the Kate Buchanan Room and are due on Monday, April 3, at 4:30 p.m. Online elections take place April 18 to 20.
The UC Board comprises 14 members, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, and community members. Meetings take place monthly during the academic year on the first or second Thursday of the month after business hours, plus additional committee work. Student board members advocate for students while gaining experience in budgeting, facilities management, programs, services, policies, and long-range planning. Board member privileges include free J-Points, a pair of CenterArts tickets, and a Center Activities outdoor trip for two.
The University Center building is the Student Union at HSU and is a major hub on campus. The center oversees operations in Dining Services, CenterArts, Center Activities, the Student Recreation Center, and the Humboldt Bay Aquatic Center, located in Eureka.
