Humboldt Scholars Lab Opening HSU Library
The Humboldt Scholars Lab invites you to an opening reception on Monday, Oct. 24, from 3:30 to 5 p.m.The Lab is a new space on the third floor that is a place of conversation and collaboration for HSU students, faculty, staff, and community in advanced studies in primary source research, GIS, digital humanities, and scholarship. This is a lab to explore technology, research, and scholarship; to advance work in digital humanities or science projects, geospatial information projects, research data services and visualization, and digital scholarship; and share expertise with others doing similar scholarly pursuits. Fisheries Biology Events for Michael G. Scott Distinguished Lecture Series Permalink Fisheries Biology
The Fisheries Biology department has the great pleasure to award Eric Pedersen as the Michael G. Scott Distinguished Lecture Series. Eric Pedersen is a HSU alumni and co-founder and director of a succeffsul mariculture operation, “Pacifico Aquaculture” in Ensenada, Baja California, Mexico: http://www.pacificoaquaculture.com/who_we_are.php.
He is going to give two presentations on October 14 in the Wildlife and Fisheries Building Room 258:
• The first presentation is at 2 pm and is title “Ocean-Raised Striped Bass (Morone saxatilis) in Floating Sea Cages in Mexico: A Sustainable Approach to Get From
the Egg to the Fry Pan”.
• The second presentation is at 6 pm and is titled “How to Become a Mariculture Entrepreneur”
Psych Talks Colloquia Permalink Psychology
Psych Talks is a colloquia in the psychology department that highlights the research and applied work that HSU psychology faculty members are currently doing.
On Wednesday 9/28 we will have Sheri Whitt, MFT giving a talk on infant-family early childhood mental health. As the director of HSU’s Community Counseling Clinic, she will also discuss the services available to students and community members.
