Summary:

Truly a case of “local girl makes good,” acclaimed composer, jazz violinist and singer, Jenny Scheinman grew up right here in Humboldt County’s Petrolia. Since moving to New York City in 1999, Ms. Scheinman has found herself working and recording alongside such lauded artists as Norah Jones, Bill Frisell, Lucinda Williams, Madeleine Peyroux, and countless others. For the past five years, Scheinman has taken the #1 Rising Star Violinist title in the Downbeat Magazine Critics Poll and has been listed as one of their Top Ten Overall Violinists. Her fourth instrumental release, 12 Songs, was named by the The New York Times as one of the Top Ten Albums of 2005.
