Campus Readies for 45th Humboldt Film Festival

The Humboldt Film Festival presents THE POWER OF FILM, April 16-21 at the John Van Duzer Theater located on the Humboldt State University Campus.

Tasha Oldham, director of the PBS documentary, "The Smith Family," will judge the event along with John Coda, a music composer in the film and television industry, who has worked on numerous television shows such as, "That’s So Raven" and "Even Stevens" with Shia LaBeouf. Cash prizes will be awarded in every category plus a People’s Choice Award.

·Monday, April 16-Local Filmmaker’s Night presented by Cassandra Hesseltine from Film Humboldt and Sean McLaughlin from Access Humboldt

·Tuesday, April 17-Young Media Makers Night with keynote speakers Allen Larson and Kip Baldwin from the United Filmmakers Association presented by Barbara Domanchuk

·Wednesday, April 18-Animation & Experimental Night

·Thursday, April 19-Documentary Night

·Friday, April 20-Narrative Night

·Also on Friday, April 20-"Thoughts on Film" discussion panel 2p.m.-JVD with judges Tasha Oldham and John Coda, as well as local film commissioner, Cassandra Hesseltine, talk about and answer questions about directing, acting, producing, and composing for the industry. Open to All.
