ARCATA – On Wednesday, Aug. 26 the Humboldt State University Career Center will host its second annual Part-time Job Fair to help returning students link up with local employment opportunities.

For local employers and campus departments, this is a prime opportunity to advertise open positions and seek out student talent on campus. The event will be held on the HSU Quad between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Students are encouraged to bring completed resumes, be prepared for impromptu interviews and be dressed for success.

Aside from part-time jobs, employers will also be advertising Work Study and internship positions located both on and off campus. The event was an extraordinary success last year and drew more than 2,000 students looking for work.

“More than half of our student population works while attending HSU, and given fee increases and decreased family to assistance with living expenses, many students are already scrambling to find work for the school year,” said HSU Career Center Internship Coordinator Ann Johnson-Stromberg. “Because of economic conditions, we are expecting the competition to be stiff for students this year. The Part-Time Job Fair is only open to HSU students and provides a leg up for that local job search.”

Students with needs for resume assistance are encouraged to visit the HSU Career Center in NHW room 130, or visit our Web site at http://www.humboldt.edu~career. For additional information call (707) 826-3341.
