- HSU Olympian Rejoins Fray » Humboldt State head volleyball coach Sue Woodstra begins duties June 1 as an assistant coach of the U.S. Women's National Team, and will serve in that role through the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

- Jacks 31st in Football Gazette’s Top 40 » This Week’s Game: Following a big win over Western Oregon on Saturday, the Lumberjacks have cracked into one organization’s NCAA Division II rankings to start the week. The Football Gazette, a publication covering football since 1986, lists the Jacks No. 31 in this week’s top 40. The poll puts them ahead of 2006 opponents Central Washington (33rd) and Western Oregon (35th). Now the Jacks put their status to another test when they take back-to-back road trips for the first time this season. Humboldt State heads to Southern California for Saturday’s game against Azusa Pacific. Kick-off in Azusa is scheduled for 6 p.m.
