Special recognition went to Christina Bauss, one of HSU’s 2016 Outstanding Students award winners. In 2015, Bauss earned a coveted National Geographic internship and more recently, she won first place for her poster presentation at the annual meeting of the California Geographic Society. Bauss shared the award with social work graduate student Dylan McClure, who is expected to complete his master’s degree next year.

Supported by a capacity crowd of family and friends, graduates braved changing weather conditions as President Lisa Rossbacher briefly addressed each group of graduates.

This year’s graduates join HSU’s 70,000 living alumni. Alumni can sign up for a free membership with Forever Humboldt, the official association of Humboldt State University.
