Quality Online Learning and Teaching Program Seeks Faculty Submissions

The California State University’s 2012-13 Quality Online Learning and Teaching (QOLT) program is seeking faculty submissions.

HSU faculty members teaching online or hybrid courses in Fall 2012 are encouraged to participate in QOLT, a new evaluative tool that measures the effectiveness of online teaching and learning. The program consists of a one-hour faculty member self-assessment and anonymous student surveys.

QOLT was introduced as a pilot program at 6 CSU campuses last year to help faculty, faculty developers, and instructional designers design more effective hybrid and online courses. One hundred and thirteen instructors participated and 25 courses were recognized at the campus and system level.

CSU Academic Technology Services will host a QOLT informational webinar Nov. 28 from 12 to 1 p.m. To participate, visit http://tinyurl.com/b7u37b8. The webinar will also be archived at qolt.ecatalst.org.

For more information or to self-nominate a course to QOLT, visit qolt.ecatalst.org. The deadline for student submissions is Dec. 15. The faculty self-assessment deadline is Jan. 20.
