Emergency Alert System a Success

Thanks for your participation in today’s test of HSU’s Emergency Alert System. These tests will be conducted once a semester.

Your email feedback on the drill is welcome at response@humboldt.edu. Specifically, please let us know if you heard the bells and where you were, got the text message on your cell phone, accessed the web, etc.

In the event there had been a real emergency, three methods to alert the University would be used:

* Clock tower bells ringing continuously
* Campus signage
* Cellular text messages sent to registered cell phones (register your cell number via the WebReg system).

Once the University is alerted to an emergency, the best places to turn for additional information would be:

* humboldt.edu/emergency
* 826-INFO
* KHSU 90.5 FM

Please visit Humboldt State’s Emergency Management Program webpage for more information about preparing yourself for an emergency.

Please remember to re-register your cell phone when you change carriers (even if you keep the same number).
