HSU Hosts Annual Part-time Job Fair Aug. 28

Local employers can meet with returning Humboldt State University students about job openings when the university’s Career Center hosts a Part-time Job Fair on Wednesday, Aug. 28th, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., in the University Center Quad.

This is a prime opportunity for local employers to find student talent. Employer registration is $40 and includes a parking permit, a table, two chairs and a continental breakfast, which begins at 8:15 a.m.

Employers collect student resumes, conduct interviews and can develop an applicant pool for future vacancies.

“The event was an extraordinary success last year and drew more than 2,000 students looking for work,” said HSU Internship Coordinator Joy Soll. “More than half of our student population works while attending HSU, and given fee increases and decreased abilities on the part of families to assist with living expenses, many students are already scrambling to find work for the school year. For local businesses with workforce needs, this event is a win-win for everyone.”

Employers can register online at the Career Center web site at humboldt.edu/career. Click on Employer Login under Springboard, or dial 707/826-3341. Soll can be reached at 826-5453.
