Campus Hosts Humboldt Orientation Program Aug. 15-17

Humboldt State hosts its annual Humboldt Orientation Program (HOP) from Wednesday, Aug.15 through Friday, Aug. 17 in a combined single session that will be the biggest ever, comprising 1,300 incoming freshmen. The Family and Guest Program will coincide with orientation.

Students and families will start arriving Monday, August 13, to explore the campus; Tuesday is the official move-in day for the residence halls.

Sunset Lane and the Jolly Giant Commons parking lot will be closed to staff and faculty parking. Limited parking will be available in the G11 lot opposite the Student Business Services Building.

HOP kicks off in earnest on Wednesday, Aug. 15 with check-in on the University Center Quad.

Fall semester opens Monday, Aug. 20 and Welcome Home to Humboldt commences the same day and continues through two weeks of activities until Sept. 1. Events are posted at humboldt.edu/welcomehome.

The campus community is urged to take advantage of carpooling and public transportation because parking is expected to be extremely limited at peak times.
