HSU Hosts Xi’an Provost

Madam Liu Yuelian, Provost and Vice President of Xi’an International Studies University (XISU) in the People’s Republic of China, will visit Humboldt State University from May 4 to May 7. She will meet with President Rollin Richmond, Provost Robert Snyder, other academic leaders and interested faculty to discuss a broad range of topics on academic cooperation and collaboration.

XISU is a sister institution of Humboldt State that hosted the IV Von Humboldt Travel Literature Conference. It is home to Humboldt College, which sends Chinese students to Humboldt State and provides study abroad opportunities for HSU students.

Madam Liu has been a German professor and has earned academic degrees from both Chinese and German institutions. She is the author of five academic books and more than 20 peer-reviewed articles in scholarly journals. She became XISU’s Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs in 2003.
