Humboldt State University will hold a vigil for the victims of the Orlando shooting at 4 p.m., Friday, June 17 on the UC Quad. Members of the University community and the public are invited to attend.
The event will include formal remarks as well as an opportunity for anyone to share their thoughts. Participants will also have a chance to write messages on large banners.
The vigil is being organized by a group of students and staff. It is intended as a time to share grief and provide mutual support, as well as to express solidarity with everyone who is part of the Humboldt LGBTQ community and those who are part of the Humboldt Muslim community. It is also meant to reinforce the importance of respecting and embracing diversity.
