Dr. Sharyn Marks, Assistant Professor of Zoology at HSU, has organized the museum's Reptile and Amphibian Discovery Day with her students for the last 13 years. “I think that people in our community are very curious about the natural world, and have a strong desire to learn and grow,” said Marks. “People are drawn especially by the live critters, both in terms of numbers and diversity.”

The open-house presentation includes displays on the biology of the presented species. Visitors can also participate in crafts throughout the day and embark on a scavenger hunt. Adults can learn about natural history, ecology, and conservation biology from guest speakers.

All ages are invited to attend, and the cost is free with admission. Admission is free to museum members and HSU students with ID. For non-members the cost is $3 for adults, and $2 for children and seniors.
