Students Sought for Education Advocacy Summit

The Lobby Corps of HSU along with the California State Student Association is recruiting 10 Humboldt State students for the 17th annual California Higher Education Student Summit (CHESS) in Sacramento. The event runs April 20 through 23.

Interested students should apply by April 5, and will be notified of their acceptance by April 11. Applications are available at the Associated Students office in the University Center or online at the Associated Students website.

The summit is a gathering of students from all 23 California State University campuses aimed at educating participants on student advocacy and leadership. Students will learn recruitment and organization strategies, and participate in leadership and public policy workshops. Students will also prepare for CSU Student Advocacy Day, when they will have opportunities to meet with lawmakers at the state capitol on April 23.

HSU students chosen for the event will have all travel, lodging and food costs met.
