Highlights for the week of October 7.

LUMBERJACK HARRIERS TENTH IN THE REGION/MORE HONORS FOR RUNNERS
For the third straight week, the Humboldt State men’s cross country team was ranked in the top ten in the United States Track & Field Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA)/NCAA Division II West Region Poll. The Lumberjacks are tenth in this week’s rankings. Two members of the HSU’s men’s and women’s cross country were recognized for their outstanding performance at the Charles Bowles Invitational on October 5 in Hannah Hartwell and Shane Burton. Hartwell and Burton were named CCAA Cross Country Runners of the Week on October 8 by the CCAA office. For more information on HSU’s men’s cross country team, click here. LUMBERJACK MADNESS THIS MONDAY, OCTOBER 14
This Monday, October 14 in Lumberjack Arena, the Humboldt State Department of Athletics will be hosting Lumberjack Madness from 6:30-8pm. This will be your first chance to see the Humboldt State Lumberjack Men’s and Women’s Basketball Teams. You will also have a chance to win some prizes and listen to the Marching Lumberjacks and see your Lumberjack Cheerleaders.

MEN’S SOCCER THIRD IN THE NATION IN OFFENSE
Humboldt State’s men’s soccer team is averaging 3.00 goals a game heading into the Lumberjacks’ matches this past weekend at UC San Diego and Cal State San Marcos. Heading into their match on October 11 at UC San Diego, the Lumberjacks are 5-3 overall and 1-2 in the CCAA. Click here for updated information on HSU’s men’s soccer team.

HSU’S WOMEN’S SOCCER DROP TWO ONE-GOAL GAMES
The Lumberjack women’s soccer team lost two one-goal games on Oct. 4 and 6 at College Creek Field to fall to 1-5-2 overall and 0-3 in the CCAA. On October 4, the Lumberjacks took a 2-0 lead in the first 20 minutes of the match. Kelsey Bess and Lindsay Stoner each scored unassisted goals to give the ‘Jacks the 2-0 lead but lost 3-2 to Chico State. Then on October 6, HSU lost 1-0 to Stanislaus State (who was receiving votes in the national poll). For updated information on HSU women’s soccer, click here.

VOLLEYBALL FINISHES ROAD TRIP
Humboldt State’s volleyball team lost both of their matches on Oct. 4 and 5 to fall to 5-8 overall and 1-5 in the CCAA. The Lumberjacks started the weekend with a three-set loss at Stanislaus State (16-25, 17-25, 18-25) on October 4. Emma Flewell had a team high two service aces to go with her three blocks and seven kills to lead the way for HSU.
