STONER’S GOLDEN GOAL GIVES HSU 1-0 VICTORY
Lindsay Stoner scored on a ball from Pikake Hix with less than a minute left in the first overtime period to give the Lumberjacks the 1-0 victory over San Francisco State this past Saturday afternoon. Katelin Talbert had eight saves in goal for the ‘Jacks who are now 4-9-2 overall and 3-7 in the CCAA.

LUMBERJACKS START OFF FINAL HOME STAND WITH 3-1 WIN
Humboldt State’s men’s soccer team started their season ending three-game home stand on Saturday afternoon with a 3-1 come-from-behind win over SF State. Isaiah Dairo, Marco Silveira and Dalton Rice each scored goals for the Lumberjacks. Silveira along with Devon Hauenstein and Rudi McClellan each recorded assists. Tab Heinz had four saves in goal for HSU, who are now 7-8 overall and 3-7 in the CCAA.

MEN’S SOCCER DROPS TWO ON THE ROAD IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
The Lumberjack men’s soccer team went 0-2 in their final road trip of the regular season this past weekend. HSU lost 4-0 at Cal Poly Pomona on Friday afternoon. Then on Sunday, Humboldt State lost 3-1 at No. 9 Cal State San Bernardino. Isaiah Gonzalez connected on a ball from Isaiah Dairo and Motoki Sato for HSU’s goal. The Lumberjacks are 6-8 overall and 2-7 in the CCAA.

VOLLEYBALL FINISHES HOME STAND
Humboldt State’s finished its four-game home stand with a five-set loss to Chico State and a three-set loss to Stanislaus State this past weekend. The Lumberjacks lost to Chico State in five sets on Friday evening (19-25, 21-25, 25-16, 25-17 and 15-4). Summer Hansen had a match high 15 kills to go with her five total blocks while Lenox Loving added 11 kills and 17 digs. On Saturday, HSU fell to 5-15 overall and 1-12 in the CCAA falling three sets (15-25, 20-25, 14-25) to Stanislaus State. Loving paced HSU with 10 kills while Malia Coyle had a match high six total blocks.

FINAL TUNE-UPS FOR LUMBERJACK BASKETBALL TEAMS
In their final tune up prior to opening up the regular season this weekend, the Lumberjacks women’s basketball team defeated Southern Oregon 81-51 in an exhibition game. HSU men’s basketball team will host Southern Oregon this Tuesday in their final tune-up at 7pm in Lumberjack Arena.

MARCO SILVEIRA AND LINDSAY STONER ARE THIS WEEK’S HSU LUMBERJACK STUDENT-ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
A pair of Humboldt State’s soccer players are this week’s Humboldt State Lumberjack Student-Athletes of the Week in Marco Silveira and Lindsay Stoner. Silveira scored a goal and added an assist in HSU’s come-from-behind 3-1 win over San Francisco State this past Saturday afternoon. Silveira scored his goal in the 64th minute off a ball from Rudi McClellan. He then added an assist on Dalton Rice’s goal in the 71st minute. Stoner scored the golden goal in HSU’s 1-0 overtime win over San Francisco State this past Saturday. This was Stoner’s sixth goal of the season as she connected on a ball from Pikake Hix in the 100th minute.
