Campus Rallies Behind Students Displaced by Apartment Fire

Following a devastating fire that gutted two structures at the Tea Garden Apartment Complex, the Humboldt State University campus is rallying behind the displaced residents to provide them with temporary housing and other necessities.

The students have been offered on-campus housing free of charge, and housing officials have delivered personal hygiene products such as toothpaste and shampoo. The students have also been provided with meal cards and will receive replacement textbooks and supplies from the HSU Bookstore.

Academic Affairs has notified the students’ instructors and the library has extended its Photo ID hours for students needing to replace their lost cards.

Psychological & Counseling Services is also available for those who may need their services in the wake of the event.

For those looking to lend a hand, the campus has established an account to receive donations for victims of the apartment fire.
