Clothing Closet Outfits Students with Professional Wear

As the semester nears an end, the Academic and Career Advising Center (ACAC) will offer free, gently used clothing to students launching their careers and looking for summer jobs and internships.

ACAC recently expanded its Career Clothing Closet, offering students a variety of professional clothing, jewelry, scarves, shoes, and coats donated by Humboldt State staff and faculty, and community members. More than 100 students visited the closet during the Career and Volunteer Expo in February and found clothes to help them feel confident when meeting with employers or attending their interviews.

The Career Clothing Closet will be open again April 30 through May 4, from 9 a.m.—4 p.m. in Gist Hall 120. Clothing is free to all students and it is theirs to keep.

Students unable to attend the event can visit ACAC in Gist Hall 114, where a small selection of clothes is available. ACAC continues to accept donations of gently used professional clothing in its office as well.

Staff, faculty, and community members donated their clothes and organizing help from the AAUW Club made the Career Clothing Closet possible.
