HSU Employee Arrested for Making Threats

Humboldt State University Police today arrested Lowell Ranstrom, a temporary campus employee, for making criminal threats.

The arrest was made peacefully and without incident. Police say they have no reason to believe there is any ongoing danger to the campus community, and the university is open and operating normally.

Ranstrom has been employed as a temporary electrician with HSU for just over one year. Police and human resources staff met with employees in the area where Ranstrom works early this afternoon. They were briefed on the situation and had a chance to ask questions.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information may contact University Police at 826-5555.
