Campus Hosts Part-Time Job Fair Aug. 23

Humboldt State University’s Career Center will host a Part-Time Job Fair on Thursday, Aug. 23, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to help returning students meet local employers about employment opportunities. Last year’s fair drew more than 2,000 students.

Local employers can take advantage of student talent and experience in the high foot traffic area of the HSU Quad for a $35 registration fee. The fee covers a table and two chairs and features a continental breakfast, which will start at 8:15 a.m.

Registered employers can collect student resumes, conduct interviews and develop applicant pools for future vacancies.

“More than half of our student population works while attending HSU, and given fee increases and decreased abilities on the part of families to assist with living expenses, many students are already scrambling to find work for the school year,” said HSU Internship Coordinator Joy Soll. “For local businesses with workforce needs, this event can be a win-win for everyone.”

The registration deadline is Wednesday, Aug. 15. Employers can sign up on the Career Center website and click on Employer Login under Springboard; or dial (707) 826-3341. Soll can be reached at 826-5453.
