HSU Named 'Military Friendly School' Sixth Year in a Row

Humboldt State has been named a 'Military Friendly School' for the sixth year in a row by Victory Media, a veteran-owned small business that operates "GIJobs.com":http://www.gijobs.com/.

The annual list includes the top 15 percent of colleges that dedicate resources to ensure the success of veterans and their families in the classroom and after graduation. This year's ranking features approximately 1,600 institutions that lead the way in supporting military students.

HSU's Veterans Enrollment and Transition Services supports veterans, active military personnel, and enrolled dependents through a variety of programs including: academic advising, counseling, approving course selection in compliance with DVA regulations, tutoring, DVA Work Study Program, certifying enrollment for the GI Bill, and vocational rehabilitation.

The Military Friendly Schools designation process includes extensive research and a data-driven survey of schools nationwide approved for Post-9/11 GI Bill funding. The school survey, methodology, criteria and weightings were developed with the assistance of an Academic Advisory Board comprised of educators from schools across the country. The survey is administered for free and is open to all schools who wish to participate.
