Joan K. Lippincott is the Associate Executive Director of the Coalition for Networked Information (CNI). CNI, jointly sponsored by the Association of Research Libraries and Educause, includes about 200 member organizations concerned with the use of information technology and networked information to enhance scholarship and intellectual productivity. Dr. Lippincott has written profusely on the use of networked information to transform institutions, including New Learning Communities, Working Together, and Assessing the Academic Networked Environment.

The Campus Learning Commons Committee is represented by units on campus which contribute to student learning and is organized to respond to the needs of students in the new learning environment. The Committee has invited Dr. Lippincott to advise us on how to build a learning commons – a “one stop learning fitness center.”

President Richmond will introduce Dr. Lippincott to the campus community. Refreshments will be provided.
