Humboldt State is now accepting registrants for its Marine Science Summer Program for children, scheduled for July 20-24 and August 3-7 at the Telonicher Marine Lab in Trinidad.
The 5-day camp gives children ages 6 to 12 the opportunity to learn about and explore local marine habitats, organisms, and Trinidad history. Sessions run July 20-24 (6 to 9 years of age) and August 3-7 (10 to 12 years of age), from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Classes are held in the “wet” classroom of HSU’s Marine Lab in Trinidad, and include games, crafts, and short field trips. Each session will also include a tide-pooling day where kids will explore local beaches and rocky intertidal zones.
The cost of attending an entire session is $175; single-day attendance is $50.
