Thomas Leland Bruner, dies at 42; Lecturer in Economics and Finance

Thomas Leland Bruner, 42, a lecturer in economics and finance at Humboldt State University, died of heart failure December 24, 2012 at Stanford Medical Center.

He had received a heart transplant 10 years ago and traveled widely overseas despite a congenital heart condition. A graduate in communications from the University of Southern California, Bruner earned a master’s degree in international finance from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Glendale, AZ. He is survived by his mother Barbara Bruner, sisters Lynne Bruner and Anne Bruner Nash, brother-in-law Jeffrey Nash, niece and nephew Katherine and John Nash and many good friends. The family requests signed organ donor cards as a memorial.
