Humboldt State University’s Humboldt Int’l Film Fest announces the call-to-entry for films to be considered for the 50th festival, scheduled on April 19-22, 2017 at the Minor Theatre in Arcata.
Established in 1967, this internationally recognized competition is the oldest student run film festival in the world. Entries are pre-screened by certified student judges, and the finalists in each category are viewed by the public and guest film industry professionals, who choose the winners during the four-day event. This year’s co-directors are seeking short films (1-30 minutes in length) which have been made within the past 5 years. Categories are Narrative, Documentary, Animation, and Experimental, and all members of the HSU and Humboldt community are encouraged to enter.
Deadline for entries is midnight February 28, 2017. Entry fee is $20.00 and is free for all HSU students and alumni. Enter at filmfreeway.com or http://hsufilmfestival.com/.
