Dr. Kauyumari Sanchez: As part of a Colloquium Series called Psych Talks presented by SOAR (Scholars of Academic Research), the Psychology Department’s very own Dr. Kauyumari Sanchez will be giving a talk titled The Many Levels of Adaption: Investigations in Speech Perceptions and Productions. Dr. Sanchez is an Assistant Professor at HSU as well as the principal investigator of the Cognitive Psychology research lab, which studies speech perception, production, and memory.
During the talk, she will be discussing investigations concerning the different ways people adapt to speech experiences from individual talkers to group talkers, including dialect groups and socially constructed groups.
The event is this Wednesday, February, 22 in Siemens Hall 108 from 5-6 pm. There will also be snacks and refreshments beforehand at 4:30 pm in Siemens Hall 128.
