A group of internationally-recognized master drummers, dancers and singers, most of them Cuban natives, provides a week-long series of workshops at Humboldt State July 21-28, open to the public.
The eleventh annual “Explorations in Afro-Cuban Dance and Drum” program offers seven days of intensive instruction in the folkloric and popular music, songs, and dances of the Afro-Cuban traditions.
A vibrant combined student recital and faculty performance will conclude the “Explorations” program on Sat., July 28, at 8:00 p.m. in Van Duzer Theatre. The public is invited to attend. Admission is $5.00 at the door, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
The public is also invited to the weekday evening Salsa dance classes on a drop-in basis for $10.00 per person.
