Alumni Giving Making an Impact on Campus

This year, a number of campus projects will be funded through the Humboldt Loyalty Fund, a major way for alumni to contribute to the university.

These funds are made up of gifts from thousands of alumni and we are very grateful for their decision to support Humboldt State University. Nearly 4,000 alumni made a gift to HSU last year, and their gifts are making a real difference in the educational experience of students here.

This year, the Humboldt Loyalty Fund, in conjunction with the Parents & Family Fund, is providing:

  • Tanks and equipment at our Marine Lab in Trinidad, in the amount of $10,000
  • A pilot project with the Journalism Department for students and faculty to help provide local news coverage on KHSU, in the amount of $15,000
  • A variety of scholarships, in the amount of $27,000
  • Support of the Humboldt Alumni Career Network, which gives alumni access to premier online career services (students may also access the services, through a partnership with the Career Center), in the amount of $7,500
  • Assistance in bringing academic speakers to campus, in the amount of $10,000
  • Assistance in sending students and faculty to make presentations at academic conferences, in the amount of $100,000
  • Dean’s Project Funds for special initiatives, equipment and other needs in the Colleges and Library, in the amount of $75,000
