Lumberjacks Notes: Still standing on top of the CCAA in points per game, the Jacks hope their 76.4 average translates into homecourt wins this week. They also top the league in field goal percentage at .438 and three-point field goals made with 7.45 per game. … Individually, Jennifer Enos is second in league in three-point field goal percentage, hitting 32 of 70 thus far for .457 percent. She also leads the CCAA in three-pointers made. Trisha Alaba ranks third in league in free throw percentage at .783. …With the bulk of the league schedule remaining, the Lumberjacks still have a solid shot at qualifying for both the CCAA postseason tournament. At 3-3, they currently stand in fifth place of the 11 schools. Though 14 games remain on the league schedule, the Jacks will be home for nine of them. “Being 3-3 after five of our first six conference games were played on the road isn’t as bad as it may appear,” HSU head coach Joddie Gleason said. “If we can withstand the road weariness at the start, the schedule favors us down the road.” …One of the inevitable facts of basketball is that a number of players will endure a bout of colds or flu during the season. The Jacks are no exception, having struggled through the past few weeks with one or another player suffering from illness.

Opponent’s Notes: Chico State is 12-3 overall, and shares the league lead with Sonoma State and Cal State San Bernardino at 5-1. The Wildcats are currently riding a five-game winning streak, dealing CS San Bernardino its lone league loss last weekend in Chico. …Senior wing Audriana Spencer is averaging 13.3 points per game to top the Wildcats in scoring. Renee Goldoff, a 6-1 junior post, is averaging 11.9 points and a team-high 6.9 rebounds per game. …Cal State Stanislaus begins the week at 4-8, with a 2-4 league record, falling to Cal Poly Pomona and CS San Bernardino last weekend, the latter decision coming in overtime. …Senior guard Shristy Kumar is averaging 12.8 points per game, and junior forward Lysandra Williams scores at a 12.2 ppg clip. Williams achieved 28 points in last week’s loss to Cal Poly Pomona.

Head-to-Head: HSU is 15-50 all-time against Chico State, each school winning on its home court last year. …The Jacks defeated CSU Stanislaus twice last year, improving to 20-27 all-time.

Gleason’s Comments: “We were up for Sonoma because of the rivalry factor, and the same is true for Chico State. Knowing that a team has a good record, its human nature to know you have to come ready to play. They know they have to focus.” … “We’ve had some tough losses, and we’ve learned we have to show up ready for every game. At this point, it’s still early enough in the season that anything’s possible. We need to finish with a strong showing in conference. The champion of this league will have a number of losses.”
