Banned Books Read-Out Scheduled for Sept. 23

Do you know what these books have in common: Captain Underpants (Dav Pilkey), The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian (Sherman Alexie), The Hunger Games (Suzanne Collins), Looking for Alaska (John Green), and The Perks of Being a Wallflower (Stephen Chbosky)?

They have all been banned at some time. To celebrate the National Banned Book Week, HSU Library and Humboldt Center for Constitutional Rights are hosting a banned books read-out to celebrate the freedom to read.
The event —part of the national Banned Books Week sponsored by the American Library Association—will take place on Sept. 23, 2014 in the Library’s lobby between noon and 2 p.m. Interested individuals can register online to guarantee a participation slot.
