At the reception, Vice Chair of the Cal Poly Humboldt Foundation and Boldly Rising Campaign Jack McGurk (‘66, Biology), spoke about establishing two scholarship endowments for Nursing and Marine Biology students and the importance of making a difference for Cal Poly Humboldt students in their academic careers.
Environmental Systems graduate student Sanjeev Kumar, who received two Cal Poly Humboldt scholarships, shared how scholarship support is helping his dream of creating a cleaner environment for the world.
Currently, there are 288 scholarships funded by donors through the Cal Poly Humboldt Foundation, with 162 being scholarship endowments. In the previous year, the endowments provided $573,710 in scholarship funds.
Cal Poly Humboldt has launched its most significant fundraising effort, aiming to raise at least $50 million to support students and campus programs, called Boldly Rising: The Campaign for Cal Poly Humboldt. In less than three years, the Boldly Rising Campaign has raised $40 million of its at least $50 million goal.
