HSU’s Department of Social Work recently had its undergraduate and master’s degree programs accreditation reaffirmed for 8 years by the national Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
CSWE’s Commission on Accreditation is responsible for developing accreditation standards that define competent preparation and ensuring that social work programs meet these standards, according to the Council’s website. The CSWE Office of Social Work Accreditation administers a multistep accreditation process that involves program self-studies, site visits, and Commission reviews.
As of October, there 529 accredited baccalaureate social work programs and 271 accredited master’s social work programs in the U.S.
