HSU economics professor Steven Hackett was one of four distinguished panelists selected to participate in a discussion of California's economies at Tuesday's all-staff meeting for the California Labor Market Information Division of the Employment Development Department based in Sacramento.
Hackett was asked to assess the North Coast's economy and how things will change or progress in the next one to three years, as well as factors of interest that drive or affect our region's economy and how economic changes could affect area employment or other economic dynamics.
Also on the panel were Christopher Thornberg from the UCLA Anderson Forecast, who spoke on the national economy; Howard Roth from the California Department of Finance, covering California economy and the San Francisco Bay Area; and Jack Kyser from the Los Angeles Economic Development Corporation, who spoke on the Southern California economy.
