Volleyball begins CCAA second round
Friday’s volleyball match against Cal State Stanislaus begins the second round of California Collegiate Athletic Association competition for HSU’s volleyball program. The Lumberjacks host the Warriors at 7 p.m. in Lumberjack Arena, and followup with a Saturday match at the same time, hosting Chico State.
Football faces top ‘Cats at home
Great Northwest Athletic Conference action continues for the Humboldt State football team when it hosts league-leading Central Washington at 6 p.m. Saturday. The Jacks will seek the upset and a measure of revenge for the loss they sustained to the Wildcats in Ellensburg, Wash., earlier this season.
Women’s Soccer plays single game
Following several hectic weeks, the Humboldt State women’s soccer team can take a deep breath and focus on preparation for only one opponent this week. The task isn’t an easy one, however, as one of the league’s toughest programs, Sonoma State, visits Arcata for Sunday’s 12:30 p.m. game in Redwood Bowl.
Men’s Soccer hosts division leaders
CCAA North Division leader Sonoma State is the Jacks’ lone opponent this week, a rematch set for Sunday at 3 p.m. in Redwood Bowl. The Seawolves have lost only once in league play, but one of their two ties was with the Jacks.
