The Cal Poly Humboldt women's triathlon team made history on Sunday, earning the program's first-ever podium finish at the NCAA West Regional Championship.

Competing against some of the top Division II programs in the nation, the Jacks delivered a complete team performance to place third overall across Division II with 269 points, marking a milestone moment for the rising program.

Humboldt was led by a pair of top-10 finishers, as Averill Payne and Poppy Edge powered the Green and Gold with career-best regional performances. Payne crossed the line in eighth place (1:10:53.71, 61 points), while Edge followed close behind in ninth (1:12:01.33, 60 points) to give the Jacks two athletes among the region's elite.

Teagan Farrell also contributed a strong showing with a 12th-place finish (1:12:58.63, 56 points), while the Hanstveit twins, Anna and Emma, finished 18th (1:14:04.61, 48 points) and 19th (1:14:51.32, 44 points) respectively, rounding out Humboldt's scoring five.

Adding to the day's accomplishments, Rylee Morris claimed top honors as the Division II winner of Heat 1, finishing 29th overall (1:17:19.69). Her performance helped solidify Humboldt's depth and balance across all heats.
