Tough road tests lie directly ahead
Southern California and its Humboldt-like weather (in recent days, at least) welcomes the Lumberjacks this week when they wing their way to the country’s largest city for two league games.
Now 13-5 overall and sharing the league lead with a 6-2 mark, Humboldt State goes up against tri-CCAA leader Cal State Dominguez Hills, 12-3 and also 6-2, on Friday. Cal State Los Angeles (9-6, 4-4) welcomes the Lumberjacks to the Eagles’ Nest on Saturday.
Jacks seek roadtrip sweep to finish first swing through league
Coming off a split at home, the HSU women’s team will seek a sweep on the road to keep itself among the contenders for the CCAA crown and eventual postseason.
Humboldt State, 10-5 overall and 5-3 in league, starts the weekend with a 5:30 p.m. Friday game against Cal State Dominguez Hills (10-5, 5-3), one of the four teams tied with HSU for second place in the standings. Saturday’s action sends the Jacks up against Cal State Los Angeles, 2-13 overall and 1-7 in the CCAA.
