This exhibition is made possible through a collaboration with Black Humboldt, a community organization built for and by Black Humboldt residents. The My Black Is… exhibition centralizes Black and Brown bodies in spaces they are regularly marginalized from, or dominated by non-POC bodies and cultures. Representation matters for those yearning and dreaming of a life, where they do not see people like themselves reflected back to them. Black Humboldt works to normalize Black and Brown arts, art forms, and community members within all art spaces.
