The portal communications system was developed in response to feedback gathered in recent years from the campus community. It empowers divisions to communicate directly in the portal with employees, providing an easy way for faculty and staff to stay connected and informed. Each division and college can now communicate directly with its members right in the myHumboldt portal.
Student, faculty and staff users can customize their myHumboldt to make it a truly personal experience. They can add the resources they use, while removing or reducing those that have less value to them.
As a student, faculty or staff user, you can customize your myHumboldt to make it a truly personal experience. You can add the resources you use, while removing or reducing those that have less value to you. This evolution is the latest in an effort to make the portal truly unique to each users’ needs.
In addition to the new messaging system, the new version of myHumboldt also provides students with more information about their academic progress and financial aid status. Students can now also connect with the Student Health Center portal directly through myHumboldt.
As always, users should be cautious with logins and passwords, especially with HSU User Names, as these accounts are used to access all the web apps contained within myHumboldt. A few tips to keep myHumboldt secure:
• keep your password secret
• in a public location, take care to shield your device when entering your password
• never leave your workstation unattended—log out, close your browser, and set a screen saver lock if you have one (particularly important for portable devices and shared machines in smart classrooms and labs)
• take special care to exit properly from myHumboldt
• depending on your browser, applications in myHumboldt will sometimes open in new tabs or windows—make sure to close ALL browser sessions to exit myHumboldt fully.
