The goal is to raise operating funds to keep the maximum number of opportunities available for student athletes.
The community and booster campaign is gathering pledges now, and plans to accept cash donations after reaching a goal of $350,000 in pledges by Oct. 9. In total, the campaign is looking to raise $500,000 from the community in order to win a match from the University. The donations and the campus matching total will go toward the Humboldt State Athletics Departments overall operating budget, which will help ensure the sustainability of its 12 NCAA Division II athletic programs.
“We are excited to open this pledge drive effort to the general public,” said HSU interim Athletic Director Duncan Robins. “This is a major step in our continuing efforts to save all Humboldt State athletics programs; an effort we have been working on with the community and boosters since shortly after I arrived this summer. Please visit the page, pledge now and support our Jacks.”
