Professor Wins National Award For Excellence In Math Education

The Association for Women in Mathematics selected HSU Mathematics Professor Phyllis Chinn as the winner of the 20th Louise Hay Award for Contributions to Mathematics Education.

The purpose of this award is to recognize outstanding achievements in mathematics education. The annual presentation of this award is intended to highlight the importance of  mathematics education and to evoke the memory of all that Louise Hay exemplified as a teacher,  scholar, administrator, and human being.

The Hay Award was presented on Tuesday, Jan. 14, 2010  at the Joint Prize Session, at the Joint Mathematics Meeting San Francisco.
