Student Art Displayed Across Campus

Student Access Galleries presents three new student exhibitions in three galleries. All shows will be exhibiting from Oct. 16, 2011 until Nov. 12, 2011 on the HSU campus.

Karshner Lounge Gallery

Photography and high fire ceramics inspired by Japanese ink drawings and the assertiveness of the unbroken line.

The Karshner Lounge Gallery is located above the Depot in the University Center.

If You Will…

Michael Lawler and Brittany Britton

Ceramic sculptures of blimps, hot air balloons, locomotives and various other devices in differing arrays of destruction and construction are the main body of work in the collaboration between Michael Lawler and Brittany Britton exhibition. Britton’s works are broken, decrepit things presented in such a way to be buoyant and display the human condition of hope. While Lawler’s works are assemblages of thrown and hand built forms that an air of ambiguity that leaves the observer with grounds for reflection and new questions upon each viewing. Artists’ Reception to take place on Nov. 3, 2011 4-7 p.m.

The Foyer Gallery is located in HSU Art Department.

Kyra Weber

Kyra Weber exhibits an exploration of the morphology, habitat of natural forms and the repetition found in nature’s details. In small and large metals, jewelry and ceramic works she uses sequences of repetitions, beginning with a single individual, recreating that individual until the work is complete. Artist reception will be held Nov. 11, 2011 starting at 6:30 p.m.

The Student Business Services Gallery is located on the first floor of the SBS building.
