Students Sought For Leadership Summit

Arcata – Humboldt State University Associated Students is soliciting applications to attend the 2008 California Higher Education Student Summit in mid-April in Sacramento, an annual event to augment leadership skills in civic engagement and social change.

The meeting centers on collaborative workshops to provide students with experience in becoming agents of change in higher education and other sectors of public policy. The forum also provides opportunities to network with leaders and peers from across the state and beyond.

Students interested in campus, community, state or national government are encouraged to apply, including those who are studying leadership, political science, legislative affairs, public policy, higher education or university administration.

Applications are due Friday, March 14, at 5:00 p.m. at HSU’s Associated Students office. Details can be obtained from Rachel R. Rodriguez at 707/826-5415 or rrr14@humboldt.edu. You can also download an application in PDF format.

The summit is scheduled the weekend of April 18-21 in Sacramento and HSU applicants must be able to miss afternoon classes on Friday, April 18, and all scheduled classes on Monday, April 21. Candidates will be interviewed March 24-28.

The summit is hosted by the California State Student Association.
