Summer Preview, Humboldt State Universitys annual summer Open House, is scheduled Friday, July 13, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., offering prospective students, families and guests opportunities to tour the campus, explore HSUs facilities and residence halls, meet faculty, and get information about the universitys academic majors, student activities, and on-campus services.
In addition, the campus bookstore will be open those same hours and visitors are encouraged to explore the surrounding areas natural wonders, spacious parks and local communities.
Summer Preview check-in will run from 8:00 a.m. until noon at the Admissions Center in the first floor lobby of the Student and Business Services (SBS) Building, where an information packet will be available. The SBS Building, fronted with a large green metal awning at the main southwest entrance, is at the corner of Harpst and Rossow Streets just yards away from the Parking Services kiosk.
A Welcome to HSU session from 9:00 to -10:00 a.m. at the on-campus Van Duzer Theatre will provide presentations about on-campus housing, financial aid, and student life outside the classroom. The University’s Admissions Staff will be available at the Welcome to answer questions about how to enroll.
One-hour guided campus tours, departing from the Clocktower at University Center, will be available every 30 minutes from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m.
Likewise, 60-minute guided housing tours will depart from the same location on the same schedule. Unlike standard housing tours, Summer Preview guides take visitors into various rooms throughout the residence halls.
An academic and student services deparment reception, 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., in the Kate Buchanan Room and Karshner Lounge, University Center, will provide comprehensive information about Humboldt States broad range of 49 majors and 84 minors. Representatives from all academic and student service departments will be in attendance to provide first-hand information and answer questions.
For additional information and further questions, Admissions, Financial Aid, and Housing and Dining will be open from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. for drop-in office hours.
