HSU's Archaeology Research Laboratory recently acquired a drone to support student and faculty research. Drones, or unmanned aerial vehicles, can serve numerous research functions. The drone can carry a range of different instruments including infrared pods and HD cameras.

At its recent meeting in Boston, the Linguistic Society of America presented the 2013 Leonard Bloomfield Book Award to HSU Professor of Anthropology Victor Golla for his book, "California Indian Languages" (University of California Press, 2011).
