Jobs & Internships Day on Wednesday, Feb. 10, noon-4 p.m.
Volunteer Day on Thursday, Feb. 11, noon-4 p.m.
ACAC encourages students to attend both days. Even if they are not seeking a job or volunteer position now, the Expo provides an opportunity to network and see what jobs are available. Register at: Humboldt.joinhandshake.com.
The new two-day format will allow the ACAC to schedule more virtual groups and one-on-one sessions for students to meet directly with participating recruiters. On Jobs & Internships Day, employers will provide career information and answer questions about summer, seasonal, internship, and permanent employment opportunities in a variety of fields. On Volunteer Day, community organizations will provide information about volunteer and Service Learning opportunities.
ACAC’s Career Advisors suggest students start preparing now for both days of the Career & Volunteer Expo:
● Practice virtual interviewing skills with StandOut.
● Develop your Handshake profile to impress both employers and volunteer agencies.
● Create or update your resume using resources available at the ACAC’s website acac.humboldt.edu.
● Dress to impress and be ready with your digital resume. Presenting yourself in a professional way is important when applying for both paid and volunteer opportunities.
● Register and attend the virtual Skillshop: Getting Ready for the Career & Volunteer Expo on Friday, Feb. 5 from 1-2 p.m. (Register via Library Skillshops)
Please contact the ACAC if you need any assistance with the registration process or if you need to set up accommodations. For more information about the Career & Volunteer Expo or other career services, visit acac.humboldt.edu, call 707.826.3341 to leave a message, or email acac@humboldt.edu.
