Hinarr Hu Moulik Student Housing to Open This Fall

This fall, Cal Poly Humboldt will open the doors to Hinarr Hu Moulik, the University’s largest student housing project in its history. The name—meaning “Our House/Home” in the Wiyot language—reflects a deep commitment to community, inclusion, and sustainability.

Annual Hip Hop Conference: More Power to the People

What began over a decade ago as a single course—Hip Hop and the Black Experience—has grown into a powerful annual tradition for Cal Poly Humboldt’s Critical Race, Gender & Sexuality Studies (CRGS) Department. Now in its 12th year, the Cal Poly Humboldt Hip Hop Conference returns April 17-18 with a clear message at its core: More Power to the People.

Third Annual Giving Day Raises $300K

Cal Poly Humboldt’s third annual Giving Day was a resounding success, uniting the Humboldt community to raise $303,390 in just 24 hours. With support from 1,172 donors, Giving Day provided vital funding to 121 campus clubs, programs, departments, and scholarships, directly enhancing student success.

Journalism Students Win 26 College Media Awards

Cal Poly Humboldt Journalism & Mass Communication students took home 26 awards after a journalism conference and award ceremonies in Long Beach on March 8, including seven first-place state awards with the California College Media Association (CCMA) and four national awards with the Associated Collegiate Press (ACP).

CCAA Semifinals Cap Most Successful Season Since 2015-16

Cal Poly Humboldt men's basketball saw its impressive 2024-25 campaign come to a close in the semifinals of the CCAA Tournament on Friday, falling 93-82 to No. 18 nationally ranked and top-seeded Cal State Dominguez Hills at The Sports Center in San Marcos.

R/V North Wind is Here!

Cal Poly Humboldt welcomed its newest research vessel, the R/V North Wind, into Humboldt Bay. The R/V North Wind traveled approximately 550 miles from Bellingham Bay, Washington, where it underwent various tests and sea trials for fine-tuning.
