Cal Poly Humboldt is proud to announce the 25th Annual International Education Week (IEW), which promotes cross-cultural understanding and exploration of global perspectives from Feb.12-16.

The Umoja Center for Pan African Student Excellence will host several campus events to celebrate Black Liberation and History Month. Activities will feature a movie screening, trivia night, karaoke, paddle boarding, and conversations about this year’s theme: Black Joy, Uninterrupted.

Ushering in a new era for Northern California’s first polytechnic university, plans for Cal Poly Humboldt’s Engineering & Technology Building were approved by California State University Board of Trustees today.

Students enrolled in Cal Poly Humboldt's Bachelor of Arts in Communication at Pelican Bay State Prison can now receive Pell Grants, starting in Fall 2024. The program is the first in the nation to be approved for eligibility by the U.S. Department of Education (ED) under a new federal policy that went into effect last July.

Students and individuals from under-served communities will have access to free tax services as part of the University’s student-run tax clinic, which returns this February.

On Wednesday, Nov. 29, Cal Poly Humboldt President Tom Jackson, Jr. and College of the Redwoods (CR) President Keith Flamer traveled to the Hoopa Valley Indian Reservation to sign an official Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Tribal Chairman Joe Davis. The MOU is the result of numerous discussions and visits to establish a formal partnership between Cal Poly Humboldt, CR, and the Hoopa Valley Tribe.

Join Cal Poly Humboldt in celebrating the 2023 McCrone Promising Faculty Scholars and Graduate Award on Tuesday, Nov. 14, from 4-6 p.m. at the Plaza View Room in Arcata. The reception will feature each McCrone Awardee giving a TED Talk-style presentation about their research interests.

The Press at Cal Poly Humboldt has released The Gray Bird Sings: The Extraordinary Life of Betty Kwan Chinn, an uplifting biography about the local hero and philanthropist.

Cal Poly Humboldt has placed third on the Top 10 Zero Waste Campuses of 2023, receiving a Zero Waste Certification through the Post-Landfill Action Network’s (PLAN) Atlas Zero Waste program. The campus is now developing a zero-waste action plan to reduce its solid waste generation further.
