Two graduation ceremonies will be held to celebrate the achievements of the fall graduating class. The first ceremony will be for the College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences and the College of Professional Studies, starting at 1 p.m. The second ceremony will be for the College of Natural Resources & Sciences, starting at 3:30 p.m.
More than 700 students applied to graduate this fall, including five who majored in new degree programs introduced as part of Humboldt’s polytechnic transition. Approximately 297 graduates have registered for the Fall 2023 in-person commencement ceremonies. During the 2022-2023 academic year (Summer 2022, Fall 2022, and Spring 2023), Humboldt awarded 1,398 undergraduate degrees, 187 master's degrees, and 100 credentials.
The on-campus commencement ceremonies will be live-streamed. This will allow families, friends, and the campus community to watch and celebrate the graduates' big moments. On the day of the event, the links to the live stream will be available on the Commencement website and at humboldt.edu. Guests can simply click on the link to view the live stream. Live captioning will be in English and Spanish. A video will be available online at commencement.humboldt.edu in the weeks following the event.
Humboldt's first graduation event occurred in May 1915 at Arcata's Minor Theatre, where 15 women received teaching certificates. Meanwhile, 106 years later, Humboldt introduced its first fall commencement ceremony in 2021.
